Diabetes Specialist Nurses - Mary Robertson

Mrs Mary Robertson

Mary Robertson has been working as a diabetes specialist nurse since 1995. She has a special interest in education and working with colleagues from Dundee University School of Nursing and Midwifery. Mary has helped develop and facilitate the diabetes multiprofessional prospective module and more recently an educators module. Mary completed a postgraduate certificate in Practice Education in 2005 and is a NMC registered teacher.

She has been instrumental in the development of curriculum and education programmes for people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes and in the development of a tool to assess the delivery of education programmes for people with diabetes. She is currently developing an insulin pump workbook. One of her aims is to look at the impact that professional education in diabetes has on direct patient care at both local and national level.
